May 30 ~ June 6, 2021

After all the time socially distancing and vaccines available, it was time to start traveling again. I knew I was going to go somewhere, but wasn't sure where. Then Matt and Sarah decided they wanted to go to Aruba. Since I didn't want to completely crash their party, I decided I'd go early, and meet up with them when they arrived (then we could hang out for a few days, and then they could have some time together without the third wheel). This meant I got to do something those cool people did: travel to an international destination and meet my friends there.

So I flew down got some diving in, and then we got to hang out for a few days. Funnily it had not changed much since my last visit back in 2014. I was even diving with the same shop/dive master. So a happy repeat visit!

Strangely even though we were near the equator and it was the June, it was surprisingly cold! The pool was actually kind of chilly. But that didn't stop us from hanging out at the pool, drinking, eating, lounging at the beach, snorkeling, etc! A good time all around! I also got to treat Matt and Sarah to one of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall places with some of the best chimichurri.

The Riu Palace at Palm Beach. It was pretty, but meh. This is my second meh experience with Riu, so no more with them. My 100th dive... or 99th... or 101st... somewhere around there Lookit this pair of beach bums I found A fantastic night evening out with yummy drinks and perfect weather. Technology will kill us all Drunk people snorkeling off a catamaran, what could possible go wrong? It was a little cold and a little choppy, but still good fun It's like a travel brochure
