April 21-29, 2022

With COVID restrictions easing up, it was time to get back in/under the water, so I booked a solo dive trip to Roatán. I decided I wanted this to be a quiet low-key trip, so instead of booking with one of the big beachfront resorts, I opted for a more boutique location. Naboo was a small resort with only 18 rooms and an on-site dive shop, located a very short walk to West Bay beach.

The Mesoamerican reef, second largest barrier reef in the world, was gorgeous and I had a great time diving. I will say I was expecting a little more wildlife, but maybe that was just the weather (a little overcast) or time of year. The night dive was a lot of fun (no video).

Overall, it was a fantastic and relaxing stay: maybe a little too relaxing. I didn't get to venture out to do some of the excursions I had earmarked (zip-line, nature park, monkeys, sloths)... the pool and happy hour was just too inviting.

Thanks to all the staff at Naboo (shoutout to Omar: Is it Happy Hour yet?!), everyone at the dive center, and my dive buddies Kurt, Jeannie, and Liam.
