Hobbies, hobbies, hobbies... Not really much to talk about. I tend to change hobbies on a whim and fairly randomly. I like to be a jack-of-all-trades really. I know a little about lots of things and try to learn as much as I can, but I find I get bored rather easily.

Some of my longer running hobbies are computers and anime. I've always had a networked setup since early in my college days (back when the "world wide web" was just coming on the scene!). These days I have about 3 computers in my house that are up all the time. One of them is my file server. Actually I hit a milestone in June '05: if you added up all the harddrives in my house, I've broken a terabyte. Yeah, that's pretty damn geeky, and not really impressive by today's standards. I'm actually up to something like 12TB at this point (although my file server is mirrored, so only half is usable space).

My anime collection, viewable in the DVD list, is what I'd call medium-sized, but getting bigger. I've been into anime since college as well. Well, actually before college, since I saw Robotech ages ago and Warriors of the Wind (the horribly hacked up English dub of one of my favoriate all time movies Nausicaa). I've got a small, but growing, collection of anime DVD's, and even more old VHS tapes and fansubs.

I was one of the founding members of the GeorgiaTech anime club in 1995, Anime O-tekku. A couple pieces of hilarious trivia: I helped come up with the club name and I coined the club's official motto: "Because there's always time to study later". I can still remember the flyer bearing that tag-line: it was a screenshot from Bubblegum Crisis 8 of Nene Romanova behind a whole stack of books. I had Photoshopped a GT logo onto her shirt and put class names onto the books. Now Anime O-tekku is huge and runs it's own convention... so it's funny to think of that as my legacy. (I was never an officer in the club as it was formed in my senior year and felt it was better to have consistent officers the first couple of years. And other than those two trivial points, I claim no responsibility... Doug and crew really were the driving force and all props go to them.)

I love going scuba diving, driving my car, and shooting guns.
